The collection’s language is spare but charged; Santos writes about women who accidentally become symbols of resilience as they move through fractured systems of care, religion, patriarchy and exile. Her prose is where tenderness and violence sit side by side in the same room.

Originally published through the Institute of Women’s Studies at St. Scholastica’s College in Manila, the book also carries the texture of independent feminist publishing from the late 1990s and early 2000s: collaborative, politically grounded, regionally specific and materially modest in a way that now feels increasingly rare. The poems themselves shift between lyrical clarity and conversational fragmentation, with recurring attention to sisters, lovers, bodies, memory and distance. There is a lived-in, transnational quality to the collection that places it closer to grassroots feminist archive than polished literary commodity.

Very good condition with clean interior and light shelf wear; warmly inscribed and signed by Aida F. Santos to a previous owner, which adds a lovely layer of provenance to an already uncommon small-press Filipina feminist title.
