The Last Sex sits at the intersection of cyberfeminism, media theory, and postmodern critique. The Krokers write against liberal feminism’s assimilation into institutional power, arguing instead for the figure of the “outlaw body”: resistant, excessive, and structurally unreadable within dominant systems of gender, capital, and technology.

The book is dense, declarative, and deliberately abrasive. It belongs to the same intellectual moment as Baudrillard, Haraway, and early cyberculture criticism, but pushes further into provocation than synthesis. Best approached as a historical and theoretical document—one that reveals both the ambition and the limits of its era’s thinking about bodies, technology, and power.
