It focusses on the mundane realities of inhabiting a machine designed to outlive generations through a fictional correspondence, accompanied by intricate architectural drawings, the project asks what kinds of buildings, rituals and social structures would emerge once a spaceship ceased to be a vehicle and became a permanent city.

Produced through the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts at the University of Western Australia, the book sits comfortably between artist's book, design research and science fiction. The narrative becomes a way of testing architecture under impossible conditions. The detailed monochrome illustrations are as important as the text, visualising interiors, infrastructure and domestic spaces that feel simultaneously industrial, fragile and lived-in.
