Written across adolescence and adulthood, 2Fish gathers poems, fragments, handwritten notebook pages and a handful of short prose pieces from musician Jhené Aiko. 

It forms an intimate archive: desire, betrayal, grief, spirituality, motherhood and self-preservation appear as they were first felt, often before they could be organised into a clean retrospective narrative.  Aiko’s language remains close to songwriting—repetitive, direct and shaped by rhythm—while the facsimile pages preserve crossed-out thoughts and private revisions. This gives the collection the quality of a working notebook rather than a performance of finished wisdom. Its interest lies precisely there: in seeing the emotional and verbal material from which a public musical voice was formed.
