A collection of interviews, conversations and essays with Jungian analyst Marion Woodman, around the topics that centered her work. 

Namely, addiction, perfectionism, embodiment, spirituality, dreams, archetypes, creativity as they pertain to the psychic lives of women. Woodman's “feminine” isn't a fixed identity, and is more something like a psychic relation that has to be genuinely encountered, not inherited.

Woodman repeatedly returns to the body as the place where abstraction, repression and desire eventually become material. Her Jungian framework can be essentialist in places, but beyond that she is quite interesting on how psychology meets symbolism. She explores addiction as a crisis of meaning, art and metaphor as forms of psychic nourishment, and individuation as a movement away from projection, control and inherited roles. The interview format keeps the book unusually conversational for Jungian psychology, with Woodman often thinking her ideas aloud rather than presenting them as closed doctrine.
