A workers’ magazine about what work actually feels like.

Its first issue brings together reportage, essays, interviews, photography and visual material from workplaces, unions and organising campaigns, with contributors writing from the position of participants rather than outside observers. Warehouses, transport, informal labour, graduate organising, Palestine solidarity and the afterlives of syndicalism all sit beside the smaller textures of work: boredom, machinery, conversations on shift, retaliation from supervisors, the things people talk about when politics is not officially the subject.

Essentially, Long-Haul asks what forms of collective power remain available when existing unions are constrained, workplaces are dispersed and political identification is uneven. The design folds photographs, archival fragments and worker testimony into that argument, giving the issue something of the old radical press tradition without turning it into nostalgia.
