The catalogue moves between contemporary art, cinema, literature and cultural history, asking what happens when familiar devices—parallel worlds, altered bodies, ecological catastrophe, interdimensional travel—are read beside Taoist alchemy, ancestral memory and non-Western cosmologies. 

Its sections consider new ecologies, the folding of space, hybrid identities and the construction of alternative worlds. Women, First Nations artists and artists from across Asia and the Pacific sit at its centre, shifting science fiction away from its usual military-industrial machinery and toward questions of inheritance, embodiment, survival and collective futurity.
