This tenth-anniversary double issue of The Oxford Literary Review gathers work concerned with telepathy, interpretation and literary theory, its centrepiece being Jacques Derrida’s “Telepathy". Translated by Nicholas Royle, it's a characteristically recursive Derrida encountering Freud, dreams, doubles, coincidence, correspondence. The essay first appeared here in English in 1988. 

Nicholas Royle follows with his own version of Derrida's piece, titled “Telepathy: From Jane Austen and Henry James”; Rachel Bowlby writes on contemporary feminist and postmodernist criticism; Geoffrey Bennington takes up deconstruction and philosophy; Robert Young addresses the politics of literary theory. It is consequently more interesting than a journal issue containing a famous Derrida essay in isolation: it catches a particular theoretical scene diving into the world of psychoanalysis, textuality, feminism and deconstruction, letting them interfer with one another.
