Description of 'World Rush — 4 Artists: Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Doug Aitken, Lee Bul, Sarah Sze' edited by the NGV

Published to accompany the National Gallery of Victoria's 2003–2004 exhibition, World Rush — 4 Artists brings together four internationally recognised contemporary artists to explore how contemporary experience is shaped by acceleration, fragmentation and the continual movement of images and information.

Eija-Liisa Ahtila's psychologically intricate films disrupt conventional storytelling, while Doug Aitken examines the rhythms and dislocations of contemporary life. Lee Bul's work investigates bodies, technological transformation and imagined futures, and Sarah Sze constructs elaborate environments in which everyday objects become part of intricate, shifting systems.

Richly illustrated with colour photography, installation documentation and accompanying critical writing, the catalogue offers an encounter with four distinct artistic practices connected by their interest in how we experience and construct reality. Particularly compelling for readers interested in experimental cinema, contemporary installation, spatial experience and the relationship between artistic form and perception.

National Gallery of Victoria, 2003. Hardcover exhibition catalogue, published for the exhibition held 4 December 2003 – 15 February 2004. Good condition, with light general shelf wear.
